Update:Velvet Summer sprung a leak, if you download it via torrent at least come out to the shows and support the movement.

Really, I am just a fan of music. I grew up in an environment rich with music of all genres and era’s. I used to sing back in the day...yeah I said used to. Hip hop was always a way to escape and a natural activity I did at 14 with my group of friends while smoking weed and chasing girls. I used to stand in front of the mirror and recite rhymes from other artists and work on my own little rhymes over my mothers yelling about picking up a book instead. I dreamt of perhaps doing it professionally one day but it was something I didn’t take it serious for a long time preferring to educate myself and possibly seek a future in the medical field, which also eventually changed in lieu of the experience in working first hand in psychiatric care.

Music returned back into my life around the year 2000 when I started free-styling again with a crew called Mark 6. The year 2002 provided the first few tracks I recorded as an adult, albeit on cheap equipment and with a $12 radio shack microphone I found a joy in crafting actual material. For the next few years I worked on finding my voice and improving my writing abilities. In the year 2004 I recorded my first mixtape which was practically one session full of battle rhymes and punchlines. My mistakes on that mixtape showed me the need to widen my range, my first opportunity at this was during a tragic time in my life. The passing of my grandfather, soon after followed by the loss of my close friend and protege to street violence. These two experiences created the material that was heard on my follow up release in 2006. ‘Crown to a prince” was released to a limited audience via Soundclick and Limewire. Right around that time I started Kayser9soze The Podcast hoping to capitalize on my own growth and the talents of fellow emcees who I had built friendships with via Murderous Emcees. Many of whom have respectively gone on to become established and highly anticipated artists. Around this time I also discovered the ability to quickly rip samples and create beats.

2007’s ‘The making of a king brought new life to me as an artist, songs like “Some loves are” and “Hypnotic” soon brought the attention of the culture. My beats were becoming staples in studios across the U.S. households as I provided anyone who wanted to rap with a beat to do so. Soon after paying artists took note, I went from selling $50 beats to full on producing and writing for other artists. During this time I wrote most of the material for 2008’s Hater Free album finally put me over the top. A mix of club anthems, street anthems and eclectic sampling provided the backdrop to my artistic explosion. I had more fun recording songs like “Moviendo cuerpo”, “Hater Hater”, and “Lord listen” than I could ever express through words. To say that I feel blessed to have the opportunity be an artist and producer for a living is an understatement. I once gazed out of my 9th floor bedroom window as a kid dreaming of this point of my life, I am eternally indebted to the fans from all continents who make what once was a dream a reality.
