Update: 99,216 copies of Hater Free 2008 sold, projected to surpass the 100k mark by years end. A major feat for an Indie label that was virtually unknown 2 years ago. 380 free songs later we are on the verge of Indie level gold.
The love for music developed during my days as a harlem resident. I used to watch people during block parties go insane when certain songs came out of the dj’s speakers. Making the process from poetry to lyricism came naturally and swiftly in my life. Being able to bring life to words in a manner that people early on found refreshing and original became my trademark. “The kid with the big words” as some would call me. Despite a few name changes in the process of growth my overall mission remains the same, make music for the people.
With over 1,000 songs either recorded, produced, or written I still feel that I can push the barrier forward. I experiment with the unconventional on a regular basis to express myself. I have been fortunate enough that my fans have embraced it and have demanded more of it. It is unusual when an artist can create his own signature and I feel that I have created mine. The success of my mixtapes and my free podcast has enabled me to reach core audiences of all walks of life and geographic locations. Never in my wildest dream could I imagine that my music which at the time was mostly created in home recording studio bump out of speakers and headphones to the volume that it’s achieved. I truly feel blessed to have the opportunity to live out my dream.
This year I embark on a new journey, the hater free collection is a catalog of music driven to motivate and inspire the listeners and fans. Hater free is the slogan of an individuals desire to pursue his or her dream despite the nay sayers. Dreams and missions are sometimes the only things that keeps us alive. It kept me alive during some of the most crucial times of my life.
I put new music out on a weekly basis sometimes daily so keep up on my podcast on itunes for free music.
